Hospital for Hope, India
May 2021

Bridge Learning did our bit to help India in 2021 by making a donation of USD 1,500 to Hospital for Hope.

There is no room for race, language, religion & nationality discrimination here.

Hospital for Hope is a self-sustainable hospital in an extremely under-served area of the Indian state of Jharkhand. This rural area lacks access to a capable health facility despite the strong prevalence of malaria, typhoid, tuberculosis and dysentery as well as high infant mortality rates.

The hospital focuses on primary care and treatment of preventable diseases through medication and education outreach. It exists to serve and support this resilient community.

Building a School in Myanmar
Aug 2015 – Sep 2016

On behalf of the Ku La Ma Kone villagers and Bridge Learning, A Big Thank you!

Bridge Learning helped to build a concrete school cum childcare centre in Ku La Ma Kone, a remote rural village in Pathein District, Myanmar at SGD 20,000. The current school is dilapidated and they tried to raise money to build a wooden school at SGD 5,000.

They couldn’t raise it as the village is poor. The richest donors are women who come to Singapore to work as domestic helpers to help take care of our homes. They didn’t expect us to ask them to ask for quotes to build a concrete school instead of wooden. They keep saying a new wooden school would be good enough & they think it’s too expensive.

The sketches of the concrete school below. Few years back, they couldn’t even send us photos of the tonnes of clothes we collected and sent because they didn’t have a camera or handphone to take photos! The whole village only had 1 communal phone which gets cutoff frequently & what was a handphone??

For those who have taken part in that social cause, THANK YOU once again. They can’t give us photos but they conveyed their gratitude. Their babies have spare clothes to change now! The whole village was blessed with ‘new’ clothes.

Most importantly, we will also be investing more (est. at least SGD 30,000) in sending teams to train the teachers there together with our curriculum so that they can be better equipped to teach the young children. The ‘software’ of educational curriculum is more important than the hardware of physical premises. This time we are bearing the costs of both the soft and hard ware of the school.

For parents & partners who are with us, know that your trust & support for us is going miles beyond! The more successful we are, the more we give away to bless others! We thank all of you for making this blessing to be a blessing possible! And we wouldn’t be able to do it without you, including our highly dedicated team!
